33rd MIBF: Trese + Skyworld book signing

by - September 21, 2012

Been to the 33rd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) this last Sunday, September 16, 2012, with my best friend and a college orgmate (my comics buddy!), and also bumped into my sister during the event.

My primary purpose for going to the event is to FINALLY have my Trese copies signed by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. I never got any of it signed since I do not bring them to Komikon events and I buy copies from bookstores, so yey, there goes my signed copies.

The two of them kept on laughing while signing. First, because of my "NOT AN ARTIST" tag I always put on my shirt. Second, because of my byname "NOPICKUP" that is evidently visible on the label I placed on every cover. Budjette Tan would repeat "NOPICKUP" every now and then, and would laugh. How queer. O_O

Skyworld also had a book signing event. My dilemma was this, all of my copies already had Mervin Ignacio's autograph, so which book to bring? I decided to bring my Book 2, Testament, since Ian Sta. Maria still had no signature on it and Mervin Ignacio's note was not personalized. And yey, they could remember me. Thanks also to ArjohnROCKER who gave them a hint beforehand that I'd be in line. I GOT A FREE SKETCH from Ian Sta. Maria. Yey!

As always, I'd ask the creators if I could take a photo of them, and I like this shot very much. They seem to have the sweetest and sincerest of smile in this shot. What a feel-good. Teehee.

Before the book signing, there was also a Free Comic Book event, and got a free copy of the first issue of Super Crooks. I'll read it. :)

Oh, after failed attempts in finding a craft book that'll be worthy to buy, I ended up buying Daytripper by Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba (It's a good read) ArjohnROCKER and I even bumped into Ian Sta. Maria again, who also happened to be searching for some comics to buy. Haha. It's a funny and odd experience.

This entry is so random. O_O
