METAL STAMPING IN MANILA: Christmas gifts 2014

by - January 11, 2015

One benefit of being a crafter is that I can magic Christmas gifts without spending too much. As years went by, I learned that it’s all about the packaging.

2013, I gave away cookies and marshmallows in classy tin cans, so I pondered on what could be a great gift idea for the 2014 Holiday season. The number of people in my list increased, so I did really have to be creative coz I could not afford to spend too much.

I found tea to be really elegant so I decided to go with this. A set of 3 to 4 tea bags of different flavors for each person. While I was preparing the gifts, I could not help but sniff the wonderful aroma of the tea, heehee. The English Breakfast was the most addicting.

This was now where my metal stamping craft became really handy. Instead of a gift card, I stamped the receivers’ names on individual metal blanks to make these more personalized. Although my gifts seemed generic, I did not want to make it more generic by just leaving a note “Happy Holidays!” I wanted the receiver to feel that the gift was really intended for him.

Then I used kraft envelopes to package the tea bags and finished them off with some red and green striped washi tapes.

The first batch went to my two wacky college friends. It's so awesome how I still can get-together with my college buddies. I think that's the only good point of working in Makati; there's so many of us here! Haha.

This next big batch went straight to my office colleagues' desks. Look at those piles. Heehee.

Indeed, there is joy in giving.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9: 7-8
